This message came round on Facebook this morning. I wanted to share with you too. Val x

break the hurt chain

“Hurt people hurt people.

That’s how pain patterns get passed on, generation after generation.

Break the chain today.

Meet anger with sympathy, contempt with compassion, cruelty with kindness.

Greet grimaces with smiles.

Forgive and forget about finding fault.

Love is the weapon of the future.”

Yehuda Berg

  1. Good thoughts, Val. On the Spiritual Path, people who annoy us are our “teachers.” In time, people who can upset us become harder and harder to find.

Just looking at a “hurter” with compassion, and truly feeling the hurt within them can begin to form a new attitude in that person…

  7. It is so true and reminds me of my mother. She was abused as a child. Her parents were alcoholics. She broke that cycle and my brother and I were never physically abused, nor did we have deal with alcoholic parents. 🙂
